Hydroxychloroquine: Hydroxychloroquine is been used since the 1940s to prevent and treat malaria, and to treat rheumatoid arthritis and lupus. Doctors are now prescribing it for COVID-19 treatment.
German scientists first built chloroquine in the year 1934 from a substance called quinine, which originates from the bark of the Cinchona tree. Hydroxychloroquine also resembles this.
