Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Buta Singh died on January 2. Buta Singh was 86 years old. In October -2020, he was admitted to AIIMS after brain haemorrhage. Since then, his health was continuously deteriorating. He breathed his last in Delhi. Buta Singh was the Home Minister of the country and Agriculture Minister in the Rajiv Gandhi Government. Buta Singh, who was once a close aide of Rajiv Gandhi, also became the Governor of Bihar and chairman of the National Scheduled Castes Commission.
