The Congress has tweeted its best wishes to Kamal Nath, naming him as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after a tense race for the state’s top post. The announcement came shortly after Mr Nath reached Bhopal after daylong meetings with party chief Rahul Gandhi. That his rival Jyotiraditya Scindia has accepted the decision was hinted at by Rahul Gandhi in a tweet. The race in Rajasthan remains open; Ashok Gehlot is the leadership’s favourite but state Congress chief Sachin Pilot is not giving up. The two are at a late-night meeting with Rahul Gandhi.
कांग्रेस ने कमल नाथ को राज्य की शीर्ष पद के लिए एक लंबी दौड़ के बाद मध्यप्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में नामित करने की शुभकामनाएं दी हैं। पार्टी अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी के साथ बैठक के बाद श्री नाथ भोपाल पहुंचे जाने के कुछ ही समय बाद यह घोषणा हुई। उनके प्रतिद्वंद्वी ज्योतिरादित्य सिंधिया ने स्वीकार किया है कि राहुल गांधी ने एक ट्वीट में फैसला सुनाया था। राजस्थान में दौड़ खुली बनी हुई है; अशोक गेहलोत नेतृत्व के पसंदीदा हैं लेकिन राज्य कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष सचिन पायलट हार नहीं मान रहे हैं। दोनों राहुल गांधी के साथ देर रात की बैठक में हैं।
