During the first world war india supported Britain’s Cause and Indian soldiers fought on the behalf of Britain. After the end of First world war, calls were raised for the Indianisation of Army. As as result of several round of negotiations Indian officer were granted the statue similar to their British Counterparts and Indian Military academy in Dehradun was established.
