Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi to be the new Chief Minister of Punjab. Senior Congress leader Harish Rawat tweeted on 19th September evening to inform this. He will take on the responsibility after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned from the post on 18th September. Channi comes from Dalit Sikh community hence giving a strong base to the party.
