In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about Operation Cocoon conducted by Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Special Task Force. For 20 Years Veerappan Terrorised the southern states starting from Sandalwood Smuggling and Elephant Poaching to Terrorism activities that include killing for around 200 people that include Police and Forrest Officers. In 1993 government constituted a special task force for his capture. It took 10 years and several crore rupees to finally bring Veerappan to justice in 2004 when a team lead by officer K.
