Colonel Santosh Babu was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra. Colonel was martyred during an encounter with Chinese soldiers in Galvan. The army had launched Operation Snow Leopard in Galvan against China. President honored four martyred soldiers with Vir Chakra.
