Kapil Sibal Resignation News: Congress heavyweight Kapil Sibal resigned from the party on May 16 and filed a Rajya Sabha nomination as an Independent candidate with backing from the Samajwadi Party. He said, “I have filed nomination as an Independent candidate with the help of SP.”
Kapil Sibal was a member of the G-23 group of Congress leaders who demanded organisational reforms in the party. Sibal had been open about his grievances and sought changes.
