Angered by a fee hike, Allahabad University students on Saturday took two professors hostage for three hours in the Pro Research Council department of the university. After intervention, the Uttar Pradesh Police took around 20 students into custody. The police dragged the protesting students and put them into the van. Angry students took Professor Ashish Saxena, and Professor Manmohan Krishna hostage in the FRC department and demanded withdrawal of the fee hike. The students said that the professors would be kept hostage like this until the fees hike order was taken back.
