The mobile phone of the eyewitness, who had recorded the final moments of the Mi-17 chopper before it crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor, has been sent for forensic examination. The development was confirmed by Upper Coonoor Police Inspector Prithviraj on Sunday. Joe Paul, a Coimbatore-based wedding photographer, had gone to the Katteri area in the hilly Nilgiris district along with his friend Nasser and some of his family members to photograph the scenery on December 8 when the helicopter crashed. The recorded video showed the chopper disappearing into the fog, moments before the crash and then a loud noise was heard. A person in the video can even be heard asking if it crashed.
