Prophet Remark Row: In an interview with India Today, UP Police Additional Director general (law and order) Prashant Kumar said that a total of 306 arrests have been made so far in connection with the violence that erupted over remarks on Prophet Muhammad. Prashant Kumar appealed to people to not indulge in such kind of violence.
“No action will be taken against any innocent, and no guilty will be spared,” Prashant Kumar added.
This comes after massive protest had erupted against ex-BJP leader Nupur Sharma over her controversial comments against Prophet Muhammad. Protesters demands include arrest of Nupur Sharma & ban on people commenting against the community.
