There are two houses in the Parliament of our country named Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The Lok Sabha is called the lower house of the Parliament and its members are directly elected by the people. Rajya Sabha is called the upper house and members of the Upper House of Parliament are elected by legislators in state assemblies. It is an election through proportional representation. In this context, the election of Rajya Sabha members is called indirect election. On March 31, elections were held for 13 Rajya Sabha seats.
