Air India Flight AI171 crashed in Ahmedabad just seconds after takeoff on June 12, 2025, killing 241 passengers and at least 35 people on the ground. The preliminary investigation report is now out. According to cockpit voice recordings, both engines shut down just seconds into the flight due to fuel switch settings being suddenly turned to “CUTOFF”. The chilling last words from one pilot to the other: “Why did you shut the fuel?” — and the reply — “I didn’t.”
