Rescue operation is underway after the collapse of a bridge over the Mahisagar river in Vadodara district of Gujarat. Amid rising bridge accidents, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that he is after the officials and contractors who are negligent in their work. He has also said that malicious mistakes should be punished. Gadkari said, ‘Accidents are one thing and those who commit dishonesty and fraud while working are another thing. If the mistake is not intentional, then it should be forgiven, but if the mistake is malicious, then it should be punished.’
