Security forces have eliminated Musa, the mastermind behind the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attack, and two other terrorists near Srinagar. The joint anti-terror mission, codenamed Operation Mahadev, was carried out by the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF in the Dachigam forest. Musa was wanted for the Pahalgam attack, where 26 tourists were killed after their religion was confirmed, and the October 2024 Sonmarg tunnel strike. Forces had been tracking the Lashkar commander for months, acting on intelligence from local nomads and intercepted terror chatter before locating his hideout. A speaker noted, “This is the news the nation was waiting.” The operation sends a strong message that terror finds no sanctuary.
