The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended the life sentence of self-styled godman Rampal in the 2014 Satlok Ashram case linked to the death of five women during a police siege. The court noted contradictions in the prosecution’s case and medical evidence, while stressing Rampal has already served over 10 years in jail and is now 74. He has been granted relief with strict conditions, including avoiding gatherings that may disturb law and order.
