The ruling BJP hails the reforms as a game-changer and is launching a ‘GST Savings Festival’ from today until September 29 to raise public awareness. Critics, however, remain unconvinced. One asked why people were subjected to the ‘Gabbar Singh tax’ for eight years if the government is now celebrating savings. Another stated an expectation for an apology from the Prime Minister for having “broken your back by imposing Gabbar Singh tax for 8 years.”
