At least 38 people, including women and children, died after a stampede broke out during Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay’s campaign rally in Tamil Nadu’s Karur on Saturday. Several people fainted at the heavily overcrowded rally as the crowd went out of control, forcing the actor-turned-politician to temporarily pause his speech.
