In this video, we examine the controversy surrounding IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, who was recently issued a Rs 1.63 crore damage demand by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) for allegedly “unauthorised occupation” of a government bungalow in New Delhi between May 2022 and February 2025. The bungalow Type VI‑A at IARI’s Pusa campus had originally been allotted to her in 2015, but IARI claims the allotment was cancelled and that despite repeated notices, she failed to vacate. The demand is calculated using a telescopic penalty formula multiplying her licence fee many times over. Watch the video for full details.
