The suicide of a senior Dalit police officer in Haryana has caused a huge uproar. His wife filed a shocking complaint accusing the state’s Director General of Police (DGP) of caste-based harassment. The FIR (police report) doesn’t name the two main accused, but the wife wants them added in section 7 and a specific law (Section 325 of the Prevention of Atrocities Act) included. She calls the situation shameful and says the DGP’s mindset shows he should be removed from his job to avoid interfering with the investigation.
