Russia Blast Today: A powerful explosion at the Avangard chemical plant in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan ignited a large fire. The blast occurred in the plant’s industrial zone in the city of Sterlitamak, where witnesses said a gunpowder-like smell spread through residential areas. According to preliminary reports, six people were injured. City officials confirmed the explosion but offered no explanation for its cause.
