In an exclusive discussion on India-Pakistan relations, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that while dialogue is necessary, ‘the onus for creating those conditions today rests on Pakistan.’ He emphasised that Pakistan has not done ‘nearly enough’ to address India’s concerns about its territory being used as a base for terrorism. The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President asserted that for any meaningful dialogue to proceed, Pakistan must first demonstrate its intent and do more to create a conducive atmosphere. This comes as the subject of resuming talks between the two nations remains a recurring point of debate in South Asian geopolitics.
