Google is working on a long-awaited feature that will let users change their Gmail username (before @gmail.com) without creating a new account—while keeping all emails, data, and services intact, with the old address continuing as an alias.
The feature is not fully rolled out yet, will have limits on how often you can change the address, and is expected to appear gradually in Google Account settings.
