A viral video from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh shows a police officer attempting to “scan” a man using a mobile phone during a citizenship verification drive. In the clip, the officer places the phone against the man’s back and claims that his device can detect if a person is from Bangladesh — saying, “This machine shows you are Bangladeshi.” However, locals insist the man is actually from Araria in Bihar, not Bangladesh.
