I-PAC has issued its first statement after the Enforcement Directorate raids on its Kolkata office and director Pratik Jain’s residence in a money-laundering probe, calling it a “difficult and unfortunate day” for a professional organisation. The political consultancy said the action raised serious concerns but affirmed full cooperation with the investigation. The raids triggered a major political row in West Bengal, with the Trinamool Congress moving the Calcutta High Court seeking the return of seized confidential documents and data. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked the BJP, protests erupted statewide, and counter FIRs were filed. The High Court has postponed hearings till January 14, deepening the political confrontation ahead of elections.
