महाराष्ट्र की 29 नगर महापालिकाओं में कौन जीतेगा, ये तो 16 जनवरी को क्लियर होगा, लेकिन महाराष्ट्र की जिन नगर परिषदों और नगर पंचायतों में चुनाव हो चुके हैं. वहां अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष पद के लिए हो रही लड़ाई अब सड़क पर आ गई है. ये जो तस्वीर आप देख रहे हैं वो ठाणे की अंबरनाथ नगर परिषद की है. ठाणे को एकनाथ शिंदे का इलाका माना जाता है, लेकिन यहां बीजेपी ने एकनाथ शिंदे की शिवसेना को झटका देकर कांग्रेस की मदद से अपना अध्यक्ष बना दिया. शिंदे भी चुप नहीं रहे. उन्होंने अजित पवार की एनसीपी को अपनी तरफ मिला लिया और एनसीपी के सदाशिव पाटिल को उपाध्यक्ष बनवा दिया. इसके बाद बीजेपी और शिवसेना के कार्यकर्ताओं के बीच झगड़ा हो गया. उपाध्यक्ष पद पर हार से नाराज़ बीजेपी के सपोर्टर्स शिंदे कि शिवसेना के कार्यकर्ताओं से भिड़ गए. हालात ये हो गए कि पुलिस बुलानी पड़ी. तब जाकर हालात काबू में आए.

Thane is considered Eknath Shinde’s stronghold, but here the BJP dealt a blow to Shinde’s Shiv Sena by forming an alliance with the Congress and installing their own president. Shinde didn’t remain silent either. He brought Ajit Pawar’s NCP into his fold and got NCP’s Sadashiv Patil elected as vice-president. This led to a clash between BJP and Shiv Sena workers. Angry at the defeat in the vice-president election, BJP supporters clashed with Shinde’s Shiv Sena workers. The situation escalated to the point where the police had to be called in to bring things under control.
