Chhattisgarh Police DSP Kalpana Verma, posted in Dantewada district, has been suspended following a complaint by businessman Deepak Tandon. He accused her of trapping him in a romantic relationship and extorting over ₹2 crore, luxury gifts, and sharing confidential police information. After a detailed ASP-level probe found serious misconduct and violations of civil service conduct rules, the state government ordered her suspension. Kalpana Verma has denied all allegations, calling them false and part of a conspiracy.
