In Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, a local controversy erupted after members of a Hindu group objected to a clothes shop owned by a Muslim shopkeeper being named “Baba.” The protest was sparked because the term “Baba” is widely associated locally with Baba Siddhbali Hanumanji, a revered temple and religious figure, and some people felt the name should not be used by someone from another community.
