The Supreme Court of India heard a case about Sonam Wangchuk’s detention. The Court asked the Central government to give the correct transcript of Wangchuk’s speech. Judges said the speech was only three minutes long, but the translation given was much longer. The Court said translation should be at least 98% correct in the AI age. Lawyer Kapil Sibal said some documents used by the government were not related to Wangchuk. He also said Wangchuk had asked people to stay peaceful. Wangchuk was detained in September 2025 after protests in Leh. The next hearing in the case will be on February 19.
