The protesters claimed the Prime Minister had been ‘compromised’, leading the BJP to accuse the Congress of ‘double standards’ and ‘maligning the country’ at a global event. While the Chief Minister and IT Minister Sridhar Babu actively participated in the summit, the party’s youth wing continued its agitation outside. The Congress defended the actions, stating that the ‘youth are angry’, even as the BJP questioned the party’s hypocrisy in participating in and protesting against the same government-led international summit.
