West Bengal Governor C V Anand Bose has resigned, with sources from the governor’s house confirming the development. The reason for his resignation has not been made public. He has left Raj Bhavan and is reportedly on his way to Delhi. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed shock at the sudden resignation, stating the reasons are not known to her. She alleged that the governor may have been subjected to pressure from the Union Home Minister to serve certain political interests before the forthcoming state assembly elections. Mamata Banerjee also revealed that the Union Home Minister informed her that R N Ravi is being appointed as the governor of West Bengal, without consulting her as per established convention. The development comes at a crucial time just before the assembly elections in West Bengal. C V Anand Bose had taken office in November 2022 and had been at the post for about three years.
