The no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is likely to begin at noon on the second day of the budget session. The discussion was scheduled for Monday but could not proceed due to massive disruptions, with the opposition demanding an immediate debate on the ongoing West Asia war. The BJP accused the opposition of trying to evade the debate out of fear of defeat. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will initiate the discussion, expected to last nearly 10 hours. BJP leaders including Nishikant Dubey, Tejaswi Surya, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bansuri Swaraj and Anurag Thakur are expected to participate. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to conclude the debate before the House proceeds to other matters.
