The West Asia conflict has intensified on day 10 as Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of Ali Khamenei, was announced as the new Supreme Leader of Iran. The decision has been welcomed by China and Russia, while United States and Israel have indicated he remains a target in the ongoing conflict.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s only oil refinery operated by Bapco was reportedly struck, with videos showing large flames and black smoke rising from the facility.
Reports also suggest Donald Trump opposed Israeli strikes on 30 Iranian oil depots, fearing that the attacks could push global oil prices higher and strengthen Tehran’s government.
At the same time, NATO air defence systems reportedly intercepted an Iranian ballistic missile heading toward Istanbul, with Turkey warning Iran against further escalation.
New reports also claim possible US involvement in a deadly strike on an Iranian school, where around 175 people were killed, including many children, with evidence suggesting the use of a Tomahawk cruise missile.
