शेख हसीना के तख्ता पलट के 18 महीने बाद आज बांग्लादेश में पहली बार आम चुनाव हो रहे हैं..साथ ही जनमत संग्रह के लिए भी वोट डाले जा रहे हैं। वोटिंग सुबह 7 बजे से शाम साढ़े चार बजे तक होगी…उसके बाद 5 बजे से वोटों की गिनती शुरू हो जाएगी..शाम साढ़े 6 बजे तक रुझान आने शुरू हो जाएंगे.. बांग्लादेश में संसद की सभी 300 सीटों के लिए 1 हज़ार 981 उम्मीदवार मैदान में हैं…आज बांग्लादेश के 12 करोड़ 76 लाख 12 हजार 384 मतदाता अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग करेंगे….बांग्लादेश की संसद में कुल 350 सीटें हैं..जिनमें से 50 सीटें महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित हैं.. मुख्य मुकाबला तारिक रहमान की पार्टी बीएनपी और 11 पार्टियों की अगुवाई कर रही जमात-ए-इस्लामी के बीच है। शफीकुर रहमान जमात-ए-इस्लामी के चीफ हैं और तारिक रहमान के साथ पीएम की रेस में हैं…बांग्लादेश के इतिहास में ये पहला मौका है जब शेख हसीना की पार्टी इस चुनावों में हिस्सा नहीं ले रही है क्योंकि उस पर बैन लगाया गया है…यह चुनाव मुहम्मद यूनुस के नेतृत्व वाली अंतरिम सरकार के तहत हो रहा है..यूनुस अगस्त 2024 से सत्ता में है..चुनाव के साथ-साथ जुलाई चार्टर पर एक संवैधानिक जनमत संग्रह भी हो रहा है..अगर जनमत संग्रह में जुलाई चार्टर को मंज़ूरी मिलती है तो जो भी सरकार बनेगी उसके लिए ये चार्टर लागू करना ज़रूरी होगा। अभी तक के सर्वे के मुताबिक बीएनपी की बढ़त है लेकिन अगर वोटिंग का प्रतिशत 50 से 60 के बीच ही रहता है तो जमात-ए-इस्लामी पार्टी बाज़ी मार सकती है..जिस गठबंधन को जमात-ए-इस्लामी लीड कर है उसमें वो सिटिज़न पार्टी भी शामिल है जो पिछले साल हुए आंदोलन के बाद बनी है…

Today, 127.6 million (12,384) voters in Bangladesh will exercise their franchise. Bangladesh’s parliament has a total of 350 seats, 50 of which are reserved for women. The main contest is between Tariq Rahman’s BNP and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), which leads an alliance of 11 parties. Shafiqur Rahman is the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami and is running for PM alongside Tarique Rahman. This is the first time in Bangladesh’s history that Sheikh Hasina’s party is not participating in these elections because it has been banned. These elections are being held under the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. Yunus has been in power since August 2024. Alongside the elections, a constitutional referendum on the July Charter is also being held. If the July Charter is approved in the referendum, any government formed will be required to implement it. Current surveys indicate the BNP has a lead, but if the voting percentage remains between 50 and 60, the Jamaat-e-Islami party could emerge victorious. The coalition led by Jamaat-e-Islami also includes the Citizens Party, formed after last year’s protests.
