Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that there are no talks or negotiations between Iran and the United States. He rejected mediation efforts, citing betrayal of diplomacy when Iran was attacked twice during previous nuclear negotiations. He said Iran cannot trust US diplomacy and that Iranian armed forces are focused on defending the country’s territory. He acknowledged that multiple countries, including Pakistan, have offered mediation, but emphasised that Iran is under constant bombardment.
