The Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious plan to transform Lucknow into India’s first “AI City” has hit a major roadblock of skepticism following a ₹25,000 crore MoU with Bengaluru-based startup Puch AI. While Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath envisions a future of AI Parks, data centers, and specialized universities, internet sleuths and tech experts are raising red flags over the startup’s credentials, noting that a company with an annual revenue of just ₹42.9 lakh and a platform functioning primarily as a WhatsApp chatbot wrapper is now at the center of one of the state’s largest tech deals. As criticism mounts over the lack of financial due diligence and the founder’s history of bold publicity stunts, the UP government has clarified that the MoU is a non-binding preliminary step subject to rigorous evaluation. This video dives deep into the controversy, the feasibility of the “AI City” roadmap.
