In a recent interview, BJP spokesperson Ajay Alok discussed his party’s manifesto and campaign strategy for the upcoming West Bengal elections. Responding to questions about the delayed implementation of direct cash transfers for women in Delhi compared to promises made in Bengal, Alok stated that the BJP is working through budgetary issues left by the previous administration in Delhi. He emphasized that the BJP has successfully implemented similar schemes in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar. Alok asserted, “Today, the whole Bengal election is not about manifesto,” adding that the core issue is faith and governance after years of alleged lawlessness under the Left and the TMC. He also claimed that people in Bengal are made to feel “It’s a crime to be a Hindu.” Furthermore, Alok highlighted the BJP’s organizational growth in the state, noting, “we have not given a single ticket to anyone who has come from TMC,” with all tickets going to dedicated party workers. He predicted significant electoral gains for the BJP on counting day.
