For nearly 20 years, Abdul Rahim from Kerala remained imprisoned in Saudi Arabia after being sentenced to death in a case linked to the death of a disabled teenager under his care. His story became a symbol of hope, humanity and collective effort after people across the world raised over ₹34 crore as “blood money” to save him from execution. Temples, churches, influencers, politicians and ordinary citizens all came together for one man’s life. Now, after years of legal battles, Rahim is finally close to returning home, where his elderly mother still waits to see her son walk through the door again.
