A 23-year-old Indian medical student, Dhvanit Rajdeep from Ahmedabad, has been missing in Georgia for the last 12 days. Dhvanit, who was studying MBBS at Caucasus International University, was last in touch with his father on May 14, after which his phone was switched off.
His family has alleged harassment, financial exploitation, and possible involvement of people connected to his former PG accommodation. Dhvanit’s parents have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to help bring their son back safely to India.
This report raises serious questions about the safety of Indian students studying abroad.
