Oman Gulf maritime tragedy has left three Indian families devastated after an attack on the tanker Setebello claimed the lives of Indian crew members Aditya Sharma, Shivanand Chaurasiya and Suresh Patnala. Aditya, a 23-year-old sailor from Himachal Pradesh, and Shivanand, a fitter from Uttar Pradesh and father of two, were among the Indian crew aboard the vessel when it came under attack near the Strait of Hormuz. Their families received the heartbreaking news on June 11 and are now waiting for the return of their loved ones’ bodies. The incident has intensified concerns over the safety of Indian seafarers as multiple tankers carrying Indian crew members have reportedly been targeted in recent days. India has raised the issue diplomatically and urged an immediate end to attacks on commercial shipping in the region.
