Karnataka High Court on Tuesday dismissed a batch of petitions seeking permission to wear hijab in schools and colleges. The court said the hijab was not part of the mandatory practice of Islam. Now, Sumaiya, daughter of poet Munawwar Rana, has questioned the court’s decision. She has said that it is strange to hear the court’s statement that the hijab is not a part of Islam.
