The Supreme Court has upheld the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme applicable to ex-servicemen. It said on Wednesday, March 16 that there is no constitutional flaw in the OROP policy. The Supreme Court has also upheld the notification issued by the Central Government for One Rank One Pension Scheme on 7 November 2015. A three-judge bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud has said that OROP is a policy decision of the government and the court’s interference in the decision of policy matters is not right.
