As citizens of Delhi continued to breathe in toxic air, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party engaged in a fierce war of words and traded blame with the BJP-led Centre over who bears responsibility for the air pollution in the national capital. On the other hand, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav mounted a blistering attack on the AAP for turning the national capital into a ‘gas chamber’. He alleged that AAP-ruled Punjab has seen a 19 per cent rise in farm fires over 2021, which has sent air pollution levels in Delhi skyrocketing.
