Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday removed Eknath Shinde, who was sworn in as the new Maharashtra chief minister with BJP’s support, from all party posts.
Shiv Sena said in a statement that Shinde has been removed for indulging in anti-party activities. The statement also mentions that action was taken against Shinde as he has also given up membership of the party.
Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the 20th chief minister of Maharashtra, while BJP stalwart Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the deputy chief minister, capping a day of surprises and hectic political activities, just 24 hours after the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
