In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about the reason why Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar left Hindu religion and adopted buddhism. In 1935 Ambedkar first declared that he is going to leave Hinduism. He considered this as a necessary step since caste system in Hindu Society is inherent in the religious scriptures of Hinduism. Ambedkar Initially considered Islam, Christianity and Sikh religion as an alternative but after 20 years of contemplation he reached to the conclusion that Buddhism is the best religion for Dalit in India.
