Russian troops have captured an airfield near Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksyy said on Thursday. During a press conference on Thursday, Zelenksyy urged world leaders to banish Russia from the SWIFT banking system, adding that a “new iron curtain” is cutting Russia from the world.
A top US defence official, meanwhile, said that Russia intends to “decapitate” the Ukraine government and install a new leadership allied to Moscow.
The G7 also issued a statement terming the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a “serious threat” to the global order.
