Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) works for advancing financial inclusion globally. Some of the work areas include ways to improve financial system infrastructure, pursue policies conducive to harnessing emerging technologies, facilitating remittance flows and reducing the cost of remittance transfers, financial literacy and consumer protection, digital financial literacy and bridging the digital divide among others.
UPI is Leading the Global payments network connectivity, the key to create a seamless Global Economic framework, aligning with G20India ‘s financial inclusion priorities of driving Faster, Cheaper, and Transparent Cross border payments.
Singapore is the first country with which cross border Person to Person (P2P) payment facility has been launched. This will help the Indian diaspora in Singapore, especially migrant workers/students and bring the benefits of digitalisation and FINTECH to the common man through instantaneous and low-cost transfer of money from Singapore to India and vice-versa. Acceptance of UPI payments through QR codes is already available in selected merchant outlets in Singapore.
