The situation is tense regarding the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri. The UP government demanded the deployment of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) from the Ministry of Home Affairs to maintain security. The ministry also approved the deployment but, in the meantime, the Union Home Ministry handed over a bill of more than Rs 4,000 crore to the Yogi Adityanath government.
