Jessica Lal while working as a celebrity barmaid at a crowded socialite party was shot dead by Manu Sharma, Son of a wealthy and influential Congress nominated Member of Parliament from Haryana. The lower court after 6 years of heating released the accused and only after public uproar the case was reinvestigated. Through media sting operations, what was revealed was a nexus of police money power and politics. The witnesses were bribed and coerced, the evidence was destroyed and manipulated. Another person involved in the case was Vikas Yadav Son of Bahubali politician DP Yadav. Who was later convicted in Nitish Katara Murder case.
