Delhi and cities in NCR are witnessing a continuous rise in Covid cases. As the positivity rate is showing an upward trend over the last few days the most concerning fact is that schools that have been reopened after a gap of almost two years are reporting Covid cases.
At a time when schools are having difficulties containing the spread of the virus among students, there is a bigger challenge to deal with and that will be the CBSE Term-2 board examinations, which will start in May. If the current trend continues, May could be the most crucial month, while containing the virus will be the top priority.
In a significant shift from the Term-1 examinations for classes 10 and 12, CBSE has decided to allot centres for the Term-2 examinations away from the students’ schools. This decision has not gone down well with the students and parents and even many schools are questioning the logic behind this change from Term-1 examinations.
Not just schools, but the medical experts are also averse to the idea of allotting centres away from the home schools. Some key factors will impact the overall safety concerns of the students if the centres are away from their schools.
